A collection of wallpapers and user profile images that brought personality and variety to the Windows XP desktop and sign-in experience.
DESKTOP WALLPAPERS
I curated the set of 15 Windows XP wallpapers, combining stock photography with three art-directed images to create a range of simple, beautiful desktop backgrounds.
I chose the image for the default wallpaper and named it Bliss, recognizing its potential to become an iconic image for the brand. Its saturated blue sky and clouds evolved Windows 95’s cloud imagery, while the landscape brought a fresh, friendlier feel to the desktop.
Bliss became a defining symbol of Windows XP and one of the most recognizable images of the era.
USER PROFILE IMAGES
I also curated the user profile images for Windows XP’s sign-in experience. Some of these quirky images, like the iconic frog and rubber duck, became unexpected fan favorites.
